JEE Mains procedure

NTA issued a public notice on September 29, 2025, to minimize procedural difficulties during the online application process. The advisory aims to assist aspirants by encouraging timely and accurate data submission.

The agency announced that it will obtain candidates’ name, date of birth, gender, photograph and address from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) through Aadhaar authentication. Candidates will be required to enter additional details such as the name of their father, mother, or guardian separately in the online form, as these are not available in Aadhaar records.

Expansion of exam centres and accessibility measures

To ensure wider participation, NTA stated that it is working to increase the number of examination cities, providing greater accessibility for engineering aspirants across the country. The agency also noted that special attention is being given to address the needs of PwD and PwBD candidates.

Guidance on Aadhaar name mismatch

In cases of a name mismatch between a candidate’s Aadhaar card and Class 10 certificate or marksheet, an option will be provided to resolve the discrepancy during the online application process. Candidates may also refer to the NTA public notice dated November 6, 2024, titled “Advisory and Instructions on Aadhaar Card Name Mismatch while filling up application form for JEE (Main) 2025,” available on the JEE (Main) website. The same instructions will apply to JEE (Main) – 2026.
