The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has opened applications for 76 Lecturer II positions across its campuses nationwide, offering permanent and pensionable employment to qualified health professionals.

The vacancies span eight specialised disciplines, with Nursing taking the largest share at 30 posts, followed by Community Health with 10 positions and Orthopaedic and Trauma Medicine with eight slots.

Mortuary Science also has eight posts on offer, while Emergency Medical Technology, Health Insurance, Medical Engineering, and Orthopaedic Technology each carry five positions.

All positions fall under Job Grade KMTC 8, meaning successful candidates will enjoy full government employment benefits, including a pension upon retirement.

Qualification Criteria

To qualify for most roles, applicants need a relevant bachelor’s degree in their field or a KMTC Higher Diploma in the relevant specialty, along with at least 6 years of practice.

KMTC insists that candidates must also be registered with the relevant professional body, where applicable, a key requirement in the recruitment process.

Beyond academic qualifications, KMTC is seeking professionals with computer proficiency, given the growing demand for tech-savvy educators in Kenya’s health training sector.

The medical college warns that “Any form of canvassing will result in automatic disqualification” from the college.

How to Apply

Interested applicants must submit their applications exclusively through the KMTC online recruitment portal at http://recruit.kmtc.ac.ke/jobs, as the college will not accept any hard-copy submissions.

The portal requires candidates to fill in all details as advertised, and providing incorrect information is treated as an offense that can disqualify an applicant at any stage.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original National Identity Cards, academic certificates, professional certificates, and transcripts when they appear for interviews.

In line with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, successful candidates must produce clearance certificates from KRA, EACC, HELB, CRB, and a valid Good Conduct certificate from the DCI.

The application window closes on Tuesday, June 30, and KMTC encourages youth, women, persons with disabilities, and minority groups to apply, as it is an equal opportunity employer.

“The Kenya Medical Training College is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to implementing Affirmative Action. In this regard, Youth, Women, Persons with Disabilities, and Minorities with the requisite qualifications are encouraged to apply. Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted,” stated KMTC.
