At the top of the list, 591,401 Moroccans applied for Schengen visas, making it the country with the most applications in Africa. This is likely because Morocco is close to Europe and has strong historical ties with countries like France and Spain.

2. Algeria

Algeria comes next with 474,032 applications. Its strong historical and cultural ties to Europe, especially France, play a big role in the number of visa applications.

3. South Africa

South Africa is third with 204,221 applications. South Africans often travel to Europe for tourism, education, and business.

4. Tunisia

With 159,740 applications, many Tunisians see Europe as an easy place to reach for education, work, and travel because of Tunisia’s location along the Mediterranean.

5. Nigeria

Nigeria has 105,926 applications. Many Nigerians travel to Europe for education, to do business, or to visit family, which shows Nigeria’s growing connection to global travel.

6. Angola

Lastly, Angola has 72,549 applications, showing an increasing interest in Europe for opportunities in education and business.
