The commission’s first chairman Isaack Hassan once implied that the electoral body is ill-fated and ends up being a poisoned chalice for those working in it.

In a radio interview some time back, Hassan revealed he was often unsettled by the decision of some Kenyans to apply for jobs in IEBC.

According to him, working for the IEBC, especially at the national level, could be among the most hazardous of occupations.

He implied that anyone who cannot put with political pressure can’t fit to serve on the commission.
