Non-profits and community organizations have until March 9 to apply for a $1,000 for projects that promote ‘promote sustainable and active travel’
The city is seeking applications from non-profit and community organizations for projects that promote “sustainable and active travel”.
Greater Sudbury has a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plan, which outlines “a strategy for implementing programs and initiatives to complement public transit, walking and cycling infrastructure.”
An element of the plan is the TDM Community Grant Program, which provides eligible non-profit or community organizations up to $1,000 for community-based activities that promote sustainable and active travel.
“Eligible activities may include social marketing, travel planning programs, community events, educational initiatives and promotional and awareness campaigns,” the city said in a release.
