The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened a fresh application window for degree courses, offering instant placement to eligible students who missed placement.
KUCCPS on Friday, July 17, invited Form Four leavers who sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations between 2022 and 2025 and attained a minimum grade of C+ to apply for placement.
According to the placement body, the opportunity is specifically for candidates who qualified for degree programmes but were not placed in universities during the regular application process.
“Did you score a C+ and above in KCSE and missed university placement? For the first time, KUCCPS is allowing late applications for degree programmes. Do not remain behind, apply now!” the placement agency noted.

KUCCPS said candidates will receive instant placement once their applications are successfully processed, allowing eligible students to secure admission without waiting for the next placement cycle.
To apply, candidates have been urged to log in to the KUCCPS student portal using their KCSE index number, password and other required credentials.
The applicant should then proceed to select the Late Degree Application option and follow the prompts to submit their preferred courses.
KUCCPS urged all eligible candidates to take advantage of the opportunity and complete their applications before the window closes, a move that seeks to ensure more qualified students have access to university education.
The latest update comes just a week after KUCCPS released placement results for the 2025 KCSE candidates, paving the way for thousands of students to join universities and colleges.
Speaking on July 8, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba announced that 293,869 students had been successfully placed in various institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year.
According to the CS, 202,133 students secured admission to degree programmes, while 28,246 were placed at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).
Another 500 students were admitted to Diploma in Law programmes, 765 secured places at the Kenya Utalii College, and 875 were placed in secondary Teacher Training College (TTC) programmes.
