KUCCPS Reopens Applications for 21 KMTC Courses

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has reopened applications for medical courses at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

In a notice on Sunday, March 29, KUCCPS announced 21 courses available for the revision window, offering a second chance to medical students seeking admission in 2026.

According to the placement service, the reopening of submissions is to target applicants who were unsuccessful in the initial placement.

It is worth noting that on March 3, the agency reopened 31 KMTC courses to students who scored C and D in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

The initial reopening closed on March 13 after the January application window also closed.

But in its latest announcement, KUCCPS stated that the application window is open to Form Four leavers from the years 2000 to 2025, broadening eligibility to include both recent and past candidates.

The agency, therefore, invited candidates who had not secured placement earlier to reapply, emphasising the opportunity to compete for slots in various medical training programmes across the country.

Applicants are required to submit their choices through the KUCCPS student portal before April 3, 2026.

Some of the diploma courses reopened include the Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology, the Diploma in Radiography and Imaging, the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences and the Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

Others are Optometry, Orthopaedic Technology, Physiotherapy, Medical Engineering, and Medical Social Work.

Certificate courses available in the latest announcement include Certificate in Medical Engineering, Nutrition and Dietetics, Health Records and Information Technology, and Public Health.
