In 2026, the company will launch its groundbreaking third generation of hydrogen powertrains, and it is now sharing crucial details about this exciting development.
According to Toyota, it wants to use its third-generation FC System not only in passenger cars but also in heavy commercial vehicles. From trucks to excavators and from ships to trains. The hardware must be cheaper to produce and must have a lifespan comparable to a traditional diesel engine. But there is more. The new fuel cell drivetrains must be 20 percent more efficient than the current generation due to various unexplained improvements.
